The passage

The landscape opens in layers.

Dark foreground rocks giving way to a small waterfall, the waterfall to a wide lit lake, the lake to warm mountains, the mountains to a sky full of color. 

There is a sense of depth here.

The light source burns high and clear, its reflection covering the water in broad, generous strokes of orange, yellow and white.

A passage through.

The painting does not show where the journey ends.

It shows that it continues.
